What is Buchanan ?
Buchanan Park Housing is a community on a beautiful campus owned by a corporation with shareholders and tenants residing in the dwellings. BPHC is operated for their benefit by an elected board of directors. As a cooperative, the corporation owns title to the real estate. A shareholder purchases stock in the corporation which entitles them to occupy a unit, or sublet if desired. While the resident does not own a title to the unit, they have an absolute right to occupy the unit for as long as they own the stock and remain in good standing per the terms of their proprietary lease.
